Different water pressures....

The problem(s) had two parts. WATER PRESSURE! With the water pump and holding tank the pressure is good. From city water to coach not so good. Have changed in line filter on more than one occasion...no change.

The water comes through a inline "pressure regulator" (40-50 psi) to the in
line filter. Pressue is low throughout the coach.

Water heater pressure is effected in the same way. Good pressure using pump...not so good with city water

Books with the coach doesn't give any information about other filters internal to the coach. This is a D Model Fleetwood Rev...2004.

Does hose diameter have to be the same size from faucet to coach connection?

As always, "Thanks" in advance

How is the pressure at the city faucet without the pressure regulator. I have had the regulators go bad. Before I had to replace my regulator I was able to help regulate the pressure from the city faucet by not opening it all the way. Eventually the regulator would not allow much more than a trickle to come out of the hose connected to the RV.I replaced my regulator with one with a pressure gauge downstream of the regulator. Now I can tell how much pressure is coming from the city connection.

This is a very common problem. Seems all the RV style regulators I would buy would give similar poor results. I finally gave up and bought one of these: Watts Brass Model N55BG Adjustable Regulator

You can set this at any pressure you're comfortible with. I have mine set at 60psi.

I agree with the Watts adjustable regulator. You need to allow higher pressure than the 40 psi or so that the inline filters have and you need a larger internal diameter to allow greater flow. The other issue can be mineral buildup - especially if you don't use a water softener. It will build up in the anti-backflow valves, in the flow restricters and in the aerator screens. Clean them out regularly.

The problem with the inline water regulators is it regulates water pressure by regulating volume, like controlling the pressure by closing the spigot. The Watts regulator maintains volume.

I also have the Watts regulator set to 60 psi.

Unforunately, in coastal Maine we are a well system and I only get 35 psi at the spigot. The Watts is then removed.

I also suggest you use a 5/8" hose from the spigot, not the 1/2" many people use- It will give you more volume of water and then add a "Oxygenics" shower head in the shower. These tips gets us by until we get back to places that have good city water pressure. I try not to put well water into my fresh water tank. It has no Chlorine and will smell and grow all kinds of unpleasant critters over time. It also is high in Iron here (brown color). I come on my last leg to Maine each year with nearly a full tank of city water to use in the summer when needed.

I was in Nam too- 70-71

Good luck,

X2 on the watts regulator but get one with a pressure gauge. That way there is no guessing if its me or the park.

Remember, if the park only has 35psi thats all your going to get.

You can eliminate the regulator as the cause by hooking up the hose without it and see if it changes any. My guess is that the problem is in the screen at the city water inlet - collapsed or clogged.

Some coaches may have a regulator as part of the inlet

If your coach has its own filter (my 04 American Tradition does and your Rev is built similar), the water goes through the filter whether it comes from the city inlet or the fresh tank. That would eliminate the filter as the cause.
