Dirt Devil CV950 inlet valve switch issue

I bought this unit a few years ago and then got a 5th wheel with one already installed. I decided to install this one in my mom's 5th wheel and I am having an issue with the inlet valve switch.

The first couple of tests, the switch worked properly. It then stopped working. I can pull the switch to one side, press it slightly and it will shut the unit down. It will not work, with the door closing at all now. I have tried several things, including putting a shim inside the door. Nothing works.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
