I have an 97' Georgie Boy MH. The TV is mounted in the insturument panel next to the drivers seat. I would like to disable the ignition cut out so that the TV would operate while the engine is running. I have the road to keep me occupied but my family, I'm sure may enjoy a video. I can tell teenagers to look out the window and enjoy the scenery only so much. At that age alot of that kind of thing is lost on them.
I'm aware that the reason it shuts off is for safety and possibly legal reasons. I was going to fashion a shield that would not allow the driver, me, to see the TV.
Has anyone disabled the power cut-off and where might it be located? I would assume at or close to the TV.
I'm just trying to get an idea of what to look for before I start taking the IP apart. Thanks a lot.

Some of them, you can simply pull the proper fuse in a 12 Volt DC distribution panel to disable the relay, providing that some other needed component is not attached to the same fuse, such as the Kwikee steps, etc.
Others, you have to get behind the TV or a panel to remove the plug from the combo relay/outlet and plug the TV into another outlet nearby.

I cut the 12 volt wires going into the 110 volt plug the TV was plugged into.

Found the relay. Disconnected a wire, done. Works like a charm. Thanks for the help.

Easiest and best way is to find a different outlet to plug the TV in, you don't have to cut or tape or pull anything save the plug.
Problem: If you happen to pass, or get passed, by a cop.. He may explain why it's a bad idea to disable that interlock.

It is a legal issue. The safest thing to do is to get a portable DVD player with screen and use if on their laps or at a table....of course passengers need to be seat belted.

I have typed enough on this issue to get carpal tunnel. So I swore next time it came up I would remain silent and not try to explain just exactly why having that TV on while one is driving is such a really bad idea and why it is wired that way for a reason-----so you will hear nothing from me on this subject---- I promise.
