Dometic 7030 RV Fridge

Any folks with this model rv fridge, your expert info would be appreciated.

Does it take a while for the system to create cooler temps inside the fridge from startup, or should it be relatively quick?

Is there ANY noise you would hear from the fridge operating (comp motor, burner, gases hissing, etc.)?

What are the weak points of this fridge to check into first, should things not be so kosher?

Again, thanks in advance.

The Dometic RM7030 is an 'absorption fridge'..........NO Moving parts (unless FANS have been added by previous owner....which is a good mod to improve draft especially IF fridge is in a slideout)

Absorption fridges are slow to cool down initially.
Freezer section has to get down to 10*F before food compartment can truly begin cooling down. Has to do with amount of cold ammonia vapor available to absorb heat from each compartment.....freezer is 1st in process

With fridge in 'AUTO' it will run off AC Power (priority source) .
No AC Power......fridge controls swap to 'GAS' (will swap back to AC when it becomes available again)
Manual mode...GAS. No swapping to AC

Here is a 'Service Manual' that covers:
*Installation (proper install critical for good performance----RV MFGs mess this up all the time)
*Operation.......Auto/Manual.......Standby
*Troubleshooting

Oh crumbly one, I don't care what ANYONE says...you all right!

Thanks for the info; I'll let it run for a couple hours next time to see if we have issues or are all good to go.

Couple hours.....
Fridge will just barely begin cooling down

4 hours.back wall of freezer and fins in food compartment may begin feeling cool

8-12 hours for proper test

Freezer can get properly cooled down (0*F) and food compartment not gt below 50*F if there is obstruction/blockage in cooling unit tubing

That is why you want to let it run overnight to verify both compartments actually cool down

Gotcha. So kinda like some of the 'free energy' experiments...only this one is actual science. Killer. I'll do that tonight and let y'all know how it turns out.
