Dometic Americana compressor fridge

Anyone with experience owning the Dometic Americana DMC series compressor refrigerator? Looking at having one put into a new Coachhouse class c we are having built. Have had gas absorption fridges before but prefer to go LP free. Any info appreciated. Oh , looking at the 6cf model, 2 doors.

All I can offer is hearsay about DC compressor fridges in general. Everyone I see online with one seems to love them. General assessment is much better hot weather performance and more even and consistent temperature all the time. If you like to dry camp you will probably want a few hundred watts of solar and maybe a larger battery bank but nothing crazy. They are much easier to run off battery/solar then a 120 volt fridge. I see them show up all the time in DIY van conversions and almost never see somebody install a gas fridge.

Go on a boating site for reviews of that model. Almost all boats use compressor fridges, since propane fridges are not allowed.

My 1987 boat has a 12 volt fridge. Still works fine.
