Dometic Auto. Ceiling Fan Problem

I have a Dometic ceiling fan over the kitchen sink. This fan has a rain and temp. senser. The problem is the fan will not start when the fan is turned on and the lid opens. there is power going to the unit but no power going to the fan.

Any thoughts?

There is a plunger switch that pops up as the lid opens ... this provides power to the motor. With the lid up, you can see the plunger.

I checked the plunger and it seems to work correctly. so I removed it and put a test light on the the ground wire that attaches to the bottom of the plunger and the hot wire to the motor. No light on the tester. I am thinking that the problem is the hot wire to the motor.

I can raise and lower the lid by turning on the fan speed switch and switching the the open/close switch.
