Dometic Brisk Air Compressor cycling

I have a Dometic Brisk Air unit, I'm not sure of exact model yet as the unit is at our seasonal campsite. However, I wanted to try and get a jump start on any tools I might need to help diagnose the problem. The unit is duct'ed in the bedroom area of our 5th wheel and controlled by a wall mounted thermostat. The air blowing out of the vents seems cool.

When the wall mounted thermostat calls for cooling I can hear the fan kick on initially. Then a couple seconds later I hear the compressor kick on. All is good while the unit runs to attempt to reach the set point. Once that happens, I can hear the compressor kick off and then approximately 2 seconds later the compressor will kick back on again. The unit seems to run for a long time and then will repeat the very short off/on cycle.

If I turn the thermostat off, the whole unit shuts down as expected.

Does anyone have any trouble shooting tips/advice for me to help determine what is malfunctioning?

Hello and We are glad to have you join us here and we look forward to reading of your adventures and experiences. I am sure you will enjoy our website and forums. Good luck, stay safe and keep us posted.
Go to our "Files" button and to the http:// http://www.irv2.com/forums/d...hp?do=cat&id=3Heating and Cooling section and download the Air conditioning service manual. It will help you get a good idea at least as to what is going on. It could be as simple as a vent blowing directly on the temperature sensor or T'stat.

Thank you for pointing me to the manuals. I'll take a look and see what I can come up with.
