Dometic Convection Microwave

I just had a new unit installed because of the last one not getting up to temp. I just checked this one, while in the convection only mode, with an infrared temp guage and found that again the temperature is no where near what it should be.:( It there an adjustment someplace or do they run lower in temp or what? I had it at 350 degrees cooking and after 40 minutes it only read 258 degrees. Funny thing though, the brownies did cook real good. Wazzzzzzzzzzz up? I can't even find information using the model number, DOTRC17B, on Dometic's web site.

I can't remember where I read a similar thread, but one response said to observe the rule of "25". Time and temperature control baking, when using a convection oven one of those should be reduced by 25%. It went further to say that new convection ovens have this reduction built-in. I don't know personally, just repeating what I read. 350 - 25% = 262

Ray,
Thanks a bunch. It makes sense but I wish the manuals would tell you that. It would have saved some heart aches for sure. Dometic never said a word when I talked to the service department. I guess I'll try calling them again.

On the gas oven in my rig I ended up just slapping a label on it that says "Set xx degrees warmer than you want" and using a thermometer to confirm

So far, that has won me two cooking prizes
