Dometic freezer fan....supposed to run?

Dometic NDA 1402. Works pretty well, but the freezer circulating fan never seems to run. When I go through the service checks it will turn on for the test.

Ideas?

Are you sure the freezer compartment even has a fan?

I can see and hear the one on the back wall of the refrigerator, but I don't see one in the freezer .

Are you sure it doesn't turn off when you open the door?

Yes, because you can hear the fan with the door closed when it is running

First you said that the fan never seems to run. Now you're saying it runs with the door closed. Which was the point of my post. Is it running with the door closed but not open? Some boxes shut the fan off when the doors are open to conserve energy.

I went back and checked mine after reading this thread. It's quiet compared to the refrigerator fan, and easy to be drowned out when the doors are closed. Also, mine shuts off when the door is opened, where the refrigerator fan keeps running .

Sorry, let me recap....

When in service mode I can turn on the freezer fan, and I can hear it running with the door closed......but only when in service mode.

The freezer fan does not run with the door closed, or open, in regular mode.

No error messages on any of them.

In service mode can turn on the fan.

But! Did discover today the freezer thinks the door is open even though the switch works to turn off the light. So perhaps that is keeping the fan from running

Update: Figured out the freezer control board was putting 2v in to the main circuit board when the door was open. Normally when the door is closed it should not put any voltage in to the main board. I don't yet know if it's because of a bad switch, or a bad freezer board. I'll update as appropriate.
