If the heating element shorted out, it most likely popped the fuse. You might need to replace both. I would start with the fuse. It should be located on the control board. If it's blown, I would next use an ohmmeter and check the resistance of the heating element. If it reads <1 ohm, it is shorted and has to be replaced. I think the common element resistance is about 60 ohms. if the elementis good, it may just be the fuse. good luck.
