Lued, welcome to iRV2.com. We are glad to have you join us here and look forward to reading of your adventures and experiences. What model is your refrigerator? Could the door not be making full contact to depress the switch far enough? If so you could ad a shim to help do this. A piece of thin plastic glued into the switch actuator should do the tric. Good luck and let us know how it turns out. Enjoy the website.

Mike & Amy Thanks for the welcome to iRV2.
The model no. is RM3862 a 2 door Dometic, I checked the switch with a test light and works fine.? We just bought the 2003 Fleetwood Bounder, it seems good just a few things need looking at.
We are snow birds, Lake Havasu is were we land for the winters.
Thanks
Denny & Priscilla

I had an 03 Dolphin with a similar problem in my side-by-side Dometic. The fridge door simply did not push the switch to the open (no light) position. I ended up gluing an extra 1/4" spacer in the area of the door that presses against the switch so that the switch moved far enough to shut the light off. Dometic never acknowledged my problem but an RV fridge specialist shop said they had seen a few like that. The shop told me Dometic wouldn't pay under warranty but they could do that for me at my cost. I did it myself in about 10 minutes.
