Dometic heat pump acting up?

My Dometic AC unit has heat pump feature installed. I also have propane furnace. I have a Dometic thermostat which lets me select propane furnace or electric heat pump. Usually when propane furnace is selected, only the furnace turns on. Last couple days, the heat pump also turns on when furnace is selected. Furnace turns off when temperature is reached but heat pump keeps running until I turn off the system. Anyone have experience with this?

I don't think the heat pump is acting up, it sounds like the thermostat is the culprit. It's the controller for the heat and it seems like it's given up control. You could try giving the thermostat a tap to see if you can separate the contacts that are closing that shouldn't, but I fear a new thermostat is in your future. Perhaps a tech could repair it, but it would probably cost more than a new one.

Heat pump comes on and blows heat. I figured it's the thermostat or switch.
