The icemaker on our Dometic NDA 1402 over fills and leaks. I have adjusted the level adjustment to the lowest level I can (the spring compresses and the screw cannot be tightened any more). This has helped because when we first used the icemaker (new coach) it ran over a lot now it is much less but it still runs over. I have not taken the metal cover off the end of the icemaker to check the level adjustment mechanism, I have just turned the adjustment screw under the plastic cover. Everything else appears to work fine, makes ice, etc. but it overflows each time it fills. Any ideas? Thanks for the help.

I am sure you are using a water pressure regulator and filter, so I would look toward the water valve being bad. I have seen them weep and over fill the molds as long as demand keeps the ice maker working. If it is satisfied and does not request the water valve to open, I have seen the nozzle freeze up.

Mike, I think I solved the problem and am keeping my fingers crossed. I think the water valve is working properly and not weeping. I did some "reshaping" of the arm that moves the small switch that controls water flow by bending the tabs that the adjust screw runs through. I can now move the arm with the adjustment screw to a position where the water mold is not overfilled during the fill cycle. I have not leaked at other times, the fill cycle just ran the molds over. I will monitor it to see if this is the ultimate answer.
Not completely sure how the cycle works. I know that after the ice forms the mold heats and the shaft begins to turn and the fingers eject the ice. The switch that controls the water fill, at least that is the one that adjusts with the fill level adjust screw, rides on a cam on the shaft. What I don't understand is the delay before the water fills, either the shaft moves very slowly or there is some other time delay circuit somewhere. Oh well, working for now. Thanks for the help.

Lew, the ice makers used are a Whirlpool design and have been around for years. The way they work are simple: Water is frozen in the mold; there is a mold thermostat to begin the harvest cycle, knowing the water is frozen. the motor starts and the cam circuitry connects power to the mold heater. This allows the ice to be freed from mold and the motor drives the rake (fingers) through the mold, harvesting the ice. The motor continues to rotate and at nearly the end of the cycle, the circuitry connects power to the water valve for about 2 seconds or 8 oz. of water to flow into the mold.
