If the replacement cooling unit did not cool as well as the new fridge, it was either a defective unit (hard as the new ones are individually tested before shipping but could have been damaged in shipment) or was installed incorrectly.
One small difference I do notice between my Amish cooling unit an the OEM Dometic, the freezer is not quite as cold. Normally 6 to 8 deg when the fridge is satisfied at 36 and the thermostat shuts the cooling off. The Dometic cooled the freezer further, -5 or so but had far more diffeculty cooling the fridge compartment. Seems there was a bit of trade off made inthe new design to provide more cooling to the fridge compartment. Could also just be my installation as during the assembly process I did have some diffeculty attaching the new unit to the cold plates, only 3 of the 6 screws attached to anything, the other 3 did not have anything in the new cooling unit to grab on to.
