We recently purchased a new to us 2004 Damon Escaper motorhome. It has a New Dimensions NDR-1292 in it. The unit seems to be operating okay but the door light was not operating. When I removed the lens cover I found that 2 wires (Black & Red) had been removed from the switch. There are 3 wires entering into the door light switch. One wire seems to be a ground. It looks to Grey in color and has a female spade connector on it. It is attached to a spade connector that is attached to the left bulb socket clip. There is a Black wire that has a female spade connector on it is not connected but it tests at 12 volts to ground when the refrigerator is in the On mode. There is also a Red wire that has a right angle female spade connector attached to it. It also tests at 12 volts to ground when the refrigerator is in the On mode. This connector has a plastic insulator on it and is attached to the upper spade connector on the door switch. When the switch is placed in the switch bracket the lower spade terminal of the switch makes contact with the right bulb socket clip. The door switch is operational. In looking at the wiring diagram I can’t see where the un-connected Black wire is supposed to be attached.Any ideas?Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Page #16 shows your light "J" on print and wiring to switch.
Colored leads are in numbered circles, wires from switch also go to heating strip for humidity control also.
You have a black lead into lamp socket and one off other side of lamp socket to switch.
Resistance from lamp doesn't allow a fuse to blow.

Thanks for the reply. I have looked at the schematic. I will take another look at it. But I am pretty sure that the Black lead is also hot. If it is connected to the N.O. contact on the switch opposite the Red wire won't the light be on all of the time?

I have the same unit and understand your confusion. Spent more time than I should have looking at the circuit when I added a fan to circulate the air inside the unit (the computer fans bought off ebay). The real issue for me was understanding the LTA (low temperature switch) which keeps the light on all the time. If I can get a picture of mine I'll post it here.

Control board D supplies battery from it on J2 lead and that lead interacts between the two switchs U & P.
I guess you could put a meter lead on black of lamp to see if it goes off with door shut.

Accoring to the drawing, if switch U is closed the light in the refrigerator will be ON if the door is open or closed. The J2 lead supplies the fixed pole of the Door Switch and the fixed pole Switch U. If Switch U stays open the Door Switch P would energize the light.
