My awning doesn't extend or retract. When I removed the motor there is a end cap on the awning tube were the motors drive shaft seats, it is completely rounded out so the motor just spins. Can anyone tell me if and where i could buy one.

I had great luck in calling Fiamma USA at (407) 672-0091 when my worm gear was worn out. Problem is they did not just sell the gear, I had to get the entire motor assembly. Dometic wanted twice the price.

What I was told is that Fiamma in Italy makes the product and badges the Product to Dometic. At least the did for my unit in 2004.
You need a part number. Mine had the Fiamma number on it.

Well I've tried everything could think of. I changed the clutch and motor kit. Now it extends but it will only retract a few inches at a time, then I have to wait a few minutes and it will retract a few inches again. Can anyone hep me to figure this out?? Thanks

How has this worked out for you? I know it's been a while, so I was wondering if you got it solved.

It occurs to me, based on your post that maybe there is a current limiter that stops the motor when it's all the way in (normally). If it's seeing too much current or the sensor is bad, it could just cut out.

One check for that would be to have someone push the awning in during retraction to keep that from happening.

Mine is like some of the other posters in that the clutch or drive shaft is worn out.

On mine the motor got water in it and seized up the lower bearing I took the motor apart cleaned and lubed the bearings and gears put it back together and it worked perfect. Be sure to drill drain holes in the bottom of the motor cover so water does not sit in there and cover the lower portion of the motor. Mine has given no problems since and all it cost me was time and a little white grease.
