My new-to-us 1999 DSDP has no bulb in the refrigerator so I'm not sure which replacement I need. The socket looks like this:
Could someone please verify that this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dometic-RV-R...5#ht_605wt_980 is the correct bulb and, if so, that I can use this bulb http://www.amazon.com/Holagen-Replac...pr_product_top as a replacement?
In the alternative, can you tell me how to find the model number of the refrigerator? Any help/advice would be appreciated.

It looks like the links you provide are the compatible bulbs but the model and production numbers of the refrigerator would be need to be absolutely positive.

You could also E-Mail Dometic. I have done that in the past and they answer usually within the same day. You will need your serial and model numbers.

Thanks to both of you! Where do I find the model and serial number? I poked around inside but didn't see it. Is it around back?

OP here. Thanks for the help and advice. It was indeed the G4 bulb. Unfortunately, I also figured out why the previous owner had removed it - the bulb stays on even when the door is closed. Well, I guess I should say I assume it stays on since I didn't actually climb in the fridge and close the door. But when I push the plunger with my finger the light stays on. Any thoughts on how to fix that one? The fridge is a 2007 Dometic NDM1062. Thanks!

My older Dometic has the switch and the bulb in one unit and it's easy to take apart. If your's is similar, I would take it apart to see what's wrong and maybe you can fix it. If not, sounds like a switch replacement is in order.

If your Dometic has a "LAC" switch on the front panel and the switch is in the on position, the light will stay on. The LAC sw.,"Low Ambient Control", I believe is what it stands for, is to enable the frige to cool when the outside temperature is cold. The bulb heats the insided of the frige and fools it into thinking it needs to cool down. Been there. DW asked me a couple of times while I was tearing the light switch apart, if the LAC switch could have anything to do with the ligt staying on. I just laughed at her. She got my attention when she turned the LAC off.
If there is no LAC switch then disregard this post.

Holy cow did you ever save me a ton of aggravation. Sure enough, it was the LAC switch. I would have disassembled the whole stupid thing. Then I would have been very proud if myself for "fixing it" when it worked all summer only to get reaggravated next winter when it "broke" again. I wonder how many years would have passed before I figured it out? I read the manual but didn't see anything in there about the light staying on. I never would have guessed it. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
