I have a Dometic Royale Model RM 3862 in my 5'er. For the past few months it has occasionally been freezing my food in the lower section. Lately it is hard freezing everything right now. Anyone have any ideas? I'm guessing it is 15 years old as the RV is a 2000 model Fleetwood Terry 34 EXL I think.

Well for starters, there are a bunch of Norcold owners jealous of you right now.

It sounds like the Thermistor that clips unto the cooling fin is misplaced or faulty. I just sold my MH and the manuals went with it, the Dometic unit in it did an excellent job (1996 unit) so I hesitate to give advice that I can't double check. If you don't have the manual, Goggle the model number or go to Dometics site and locate info for the Thermistor and it's placement.

I have a new thermistor and terminal panel, I just haven't installed them. When I put a jumper across the thermistor terminals nothing changed. I did this at the direction of an RV repair guy.
