Dometic RM 1303 Thermostat Adjustment?

I just replaced the circuit board on an older Dometic frige. Before i replace it, Im trying to see if i can adjust the 2 screws on the thermostat to get the fridge a little cooler. As it is now fridge gets to 40 and freezer is at 18.
I bypassed the board and got 19 for the fridge and 3 for the freezer so i know the cooling unit is good. The screws on the 2 screws on the thermostat are preset but i think someone messed with them just trying to see if i turn them in or out and why there are 2.

These are "cut in" and "cut out" setting and are almost impossible to adjust in the field but can be done over a few weeks period. I would start with adjusting the "cut out" to not open so soon; this will bring down the temperature. Then you will need to adjust the "cut in" to possibly cut in a little sooner but not too soon. You need to get the right temperature difference between cut in and cut out. If it were me, I would just order a new T'stat and install it. I don't have the time or patience to play with it.

Thermostat adjust RM1303

I believe on the RM1303 the thermostat cap tube is slid up through a small tube at the back of the refigerator cooling unit on the left side. This tube allows the cap tube to slid up to a factory preset distance so the calibration would give around 38 degree at a mid range setting. If you pull the thermostat cap tube down/out of the tube about an inch at a time, it would make the thermostat not read the coldest at the tip so quick, allowing the unit to stay in the cooling mode longer. This would get the inside food zone colder, since the unit stayed in the cooling mode longer. This would or should give the same responce as when you wired the AC element straight to AC power source or hooked the 2 lead wires of the thermostat together, this became colder by taking out the ON-OFF control of the thermostat, unit stayed on longer. Keep pulling out/down the cap tube till you reach the degree you need at the mid-range setting on your control knob. If you remove the thermostat cap tube completety an still do not get the cold temps, replace the thermostat.

Thanks for the advice. The adjustment seems to much of a headache. I will try to slide the tube down a little but sounds like i will just order a new one.
