Dometic SeaLand toilet vacuum breaker emergency fix

We're leaving Monday morning for a three week trip. Today, the vacuum breaker started leaking while flushing the toilet. It is making a puddle, not a few drops. I seriously doubt that I will locate a replacement in central New Hampshire the next 48 hours, so I am looking for a quick fix to get on the road while I wait for a replacement. Is there any reason not to simply plug the vent hole? It seems like some caulk or hot glue should do the trick. What could happen aside from some gurgling if the water drains back down a little bit while there is no pressure?

You could plug it. It protects your tank water, from toilet water back flowing, if a few things go wrong.

See if there are any marine stores around. West Marine carries it.
