Don't use Mobil oil filter M1-102

This is a response to a 2011 post that pops up when searching for oil filter alternatives for the 5500. The Mobil M1-102 was incorrect for my Onan and I can't return the filter so I'm hoping this will help prevent someone from making the same mistake. The filter is too wide, the o-ring is too big and it's too short. Below the quote I've added a source for a filter socket that fits perfectly for the 122-0836.

Oil Filter

  • STP S3614

Filter socket:
Zeroyoyo Universal Cap Oil Filter Wrenches for Removing Housings Tools Steel 4.24mm x 64.5 mm with 14 Fultes

I left the typo because that's how it's listed. Here's the link to the socket at the time this was posted. It accepts a 1/2" drive not 3/8" as stated on the website but also accepts a wrench.

Why can't you return it?
