We have a Norcold 1200 LRIM with icemaker. When I put the coach in storage between trips i keep the fridge off and open, the problem I encounter is standing water in the icemaker tray. Is there a way to run the last set of ice cubes out of the tray without having it refill, or are my options to either soak out the water with a towel or try to catch the icemaker between dropping the ice cubes and having the tray refill?

Welcome scooter21 to irv2.
You have the idea disconnect the line up to ice maker off water valve in vent opening outside to drain. Than take some paper towels and absorb the water out of tray.
Should drain line from under sink also and shut off tap valve.
When you have two lines off electric valve try to blow out any water in it.
Leave the wire bar in the up position and pull electric plug out of outlet.

Before using paper towels, I use a short piece of aquarium tubing and siphon out as much water as I can.

I believe the manual say to turn off the water and run the ice maker for a few hours (overnight) to make ice with the remaining water and drop the partial ice cubes into the bucket - worked for me at -30C.

JCM has the right idea. Your water supply to the ice maker usually has a shut-off under the sink or someplace near the internal water filter for the sink and ice maker water. Simply turn off that shut-off valve, let the ice maker cycle once to dump the existing cubes, and the tray will not fill up as there is no water pressure.

If you plan to winterize the coach, then find the water fill solenoid and disconnect the ice maker water fill tube to drain the excess water from the tube and shoot some compressed air through the line. Once that is done, you will have to drain and winterize all of the water lines including the ice maker supply line up to the solenoid. You won't have to worry about the small tube going to the ice tray itself.

JCM/DR4Film - Thanks for the info, this is the direction I think I'll try this weekend. I usually turn off the icemaker water supply but raise the bar at the same time; will leave it down this time. Thanks!

I have a question about the icemaker, I have it out of the fridge at the moment. The cubes are really big, is there a way to adjust the amount of water is allowed into the icemaker? It works fine but sometimes I get a icicle forming from too much water I think. There also seems to be a little something on the surface on a few of the ice cube molds. Possibly a calcium build up. What would be a safe way to clean this? It's not much but while it's out why not. The reason I have my fridge tore down, I'm installing a Amish cooling unit. Thanks in advance for advice.

Yes, there is an adjustment for the water fill. The Service manual for the Norcold 1200 is too large to attach so here's is the link dor you to download it yourself.

Northwest RV Supply

Look at page 62 for instructions on how to adjust the water fill.

The tray is coated with a material to allow the cubes to release better from the tray. It uses a little bit of heat too. If there is a buildup of calcium on top of the coating, you can remove it with CLR solution. If the coating is chipping off, then it's better to replace the ice-maker. Lowe's has them for $50.
