Dryer Vent

How often do you clean your dryer vent? In our coach with the exterior having full body paint the exterior vent and caulking I don't want to disturb. I guess pulling out the washer/dryer combo is the end result. I purchased one of those as seen on tv dryer cleaners that you hook to the vacuum cleaner but the clear hose is pretty stiff and hard to get into the vent from the outside. I have drawn some lint into it by doing this but there must be quite a bit in the vent hose in the interior. You know how things go when you disrupt something done at the factory. If you pull out the unit you never seem to be able to get it back in where it belongs. Maybe this is a stupid topic but I'm just wondering what everyone else is doing to clean the vent hose. I don't want to have a fire. Thanks.

I clean out the vent twice a year. I can pull our unit forward a few inches and be able to easily reach the back.

We have a Splendide 2000S, and the place on ours that is a bigger problem than the vent or the hose is a rubber boot inside the housing that connects the drum shroud inside the cabinet to a plastic sleeve where the flexible vent hose connects to the outside of the cabinet. The rubber boot creates quite a restriction, and the moist lint can really pack in there.

Look down the list on this forum for service tips for Spendide, it has a link to escapees sight on cleaning procedure that does not require removal.

Thanks for posting the link. We'll give this a try.
