So I bought a working Top unit ( Turned it on before I bought it) ahhh nice cold air... Until I hooked it up in my camper.... Same problem fan comes on everything works but the compressor just will not come on for some reason... I replaced the thermostat and still didn't help... Can someone please help?

test the wiring at the control box up inside the unit to make sure u have 12v going to the control box from the thermostat. if all checks out at the wiring to the control box the relay has fried in the control box for the compressor. it happened to me. did the same thing new upper unit new t-stat. i should have changed the control box.

I believe that the units have some sort of switches that have to be set to be compatible. See if you can find the model number and then look up Bryants RV online. He has manufacturers manuals on his website that are very complete.
Good luck and safe travels!

Could still be the start capacitor for the compressor. I've got capacitance test function on my Fluke multimeter and had a start cap test OK. Wouldn't run the compressor. Replaced start cap w/new & it ran fine.
Close inspection of the old start cap showed a small burn mark thru a tiny window in the terminal insulator.
