Recently lost connection between the 5 button (upgraded from 4 button) comfort control center to the 2 ACs and furnace. Turns out a mouse apparently chewed the data cable from the thermostat to the #1 AC unit. Local RV repair replaced the data cable and said all is well.

After arriving at home, I discovered the #1 AC would not come on, unless I turned the temp down to at least 20 degrees below the inside coach temp. I did this slowly and methodically. I tried the #2 AC and it seems to work normally. The #2 AC does have a remote temp sensor. I assume the temp sensor for zone #1 is on the CCC itself?

Any ideas on what happened here?

You might try to reset the 5 button controller, I've found that to help when the system starts acting strangely.

Reset information is in this PDF.
When you upgraded to 5 button the controlers were replaced in both AC's correct?

Did you allow for the time delay?

Thanks all for the feedback! The 5 button was replaced a few years ago and was working fine before the little rat chewed my data cable. I already had the Dometic trouble shooting guide. In fact, I gave a copy to the repairman.

I had already re-set the CCC with little effect. So I got the guide out and went through the configuration for my particular set-up. I found the the AC zone1 #4 DIP switch in the "on" position (in my particular set-up, they should all be off). That had little effect even after a re-set. I looked further and found the cold sensor (runs from the condensor coil to the control box) plugged into the P4 (beige) connector rather than the P5 (blue) connector. Another re-set and it is working perfectly.

Since replacing a data cable is all exterior to the control box, it seems very suspicious the serviceman would have changed (or bumped) a DIP switch and had a need to unplug the cold sensor (which are all inside the box) to simply change a data cable. I'm fairly miffed at this point!
