a/c will only run in the on position. Fan stops in auto position and a/c still runs. anyone got any ideas.

The control board is the problem. It may be wet from condensation from the evaporator coils. It can sometimes be allowed to dry out, but usually replacement is the best guaranteed repair. I woul recommend using a tape or sealant on the top side of the board case holes to eliminate water intrusion. I have also used electrical tape around the harness, to the black conduit sheathing, just above the white connector to the upper unit to eliminate water from entering the white connector to the control.
