Easy inverter install

I am trying to install my trace m2512 inverter in my class a motorhome. I have been reading about using the shore plug to run into the inverter ac out. I understand that I should shut off the converter and ac units at the main panel. Is there anything else I need to do, and what happens if the auto genstart turns the generator on while pluged into the inverter through the shore cable. Thanks in advance

I would think that you should be totally disconnected from shore power and from batteries too. I could be wrong but if I were installing an inverter and/or inverter-charger I would not be connected to electricity producing sources during that work.

You should also have the ability to disable AGS and I would make sure you do that as well.

Powering the whole coach by plugging the shore power cord into the inverter is how my coach is setup. You are aware of the need to disable the converter/charger to avoid a charging loop. you must manually manage loads that exceed the capacity of the inverter, such as you mention the air conditioning. Likely you want to put the refrigerator on LP only if applicable.

As for the generator, do you have a transfer switch? Likely yes, so just as with shore power the transfer switch would disconnect the inverter when the genny starts either manually or via AGS. My coach works this way.

Attached us a write up of my power systems, includes a diagram of inverter connections.
