ECM humming?

'03 Fleetwood Revolution. Just charged coach's 4 - 6Volt batteries with an external charger. Xantrex control panel shows batteries are now fully charged. But now, what appears to be an ECM in the battery compartment is humming. (see picture). Use/Store switch is in "Store" setting. (Humming heard in both settings though).

What is going on?

Thanks!

Mark

Humming is usually caused by 120v AC power, not 12v DC. Battery disconnect is a 12v powered latching relay that only uses power to switch from off to on. The 60Hz cycle can cause a 120v solenoid to buzz when it's dirty or failing.

If your talking about the upper box, that is the transmission control module.
It should be silent, even with the key on, I've never heard one make noise.

Ok, then the noise is coming from the Battery Control Center. Is the humming a concern? It quit making noise a day after the batteries were charged and charger disconnected. Thanks for your inputs.

I'd open the lid and see what's inside. If it includes your converter/charger, it could be a cooling fan when charge rate or 12v draw is high. You could also look up the BCC online and see what it contains and does.

The noise was coming from the Battery Isolator Relay in the Battery Control Center. Also, the Xantrex Remote panel is now showing batteries at half charge and 12 volts, with nothing being used. Batteries were new earlier this year.

Suggestions? Thank you!
