Elec waterheater won't start?
We have the Atwood instant electric water heater.
It was working without issues and all of a sudden it didn't work on the trip we are on. Thankfully we have the LP 10 gal tank heater but I did t want to use that while being hooked up at site.
Any way to figure why it's not during up.
The light on the switch is not turning on under the sink.
Is it control 12v?
I thought it was all 110v.
Anyone with knowledge or experience please let us know.
This is installed in our 2002 Fleetwood Bounder
Thks

The 120VAC power to your Atwood instant electric water heater might be turned ON/OFF with a relay operated by 12VDC.

The associated circuit breaker may be tripped/faulty. Worth a check.

If your WH is like the one on my 08 Bounder , the red light only illuminates when the propane fails to ignite. Here's a photo of a similar one to mine.
Have you checked the WH circuit breaker ?

I checked the breaker on the unit outside 15 amp it seems ok
I checked my breaker panel and all is ok.
I guess I have to check fuse or relay. I think it's located upfront in engine bay inside big metal box.

When we bought ours is was winter time so all water system couldn't be checked as it was winterized. When spring was here I put water in and tried everything. All was good but water heater didn't work in AC mode. Checked all breakers and finally found a access door inside coach near water heater. The 120 volt plug was unplugged. Intentionally or not that is the question. Maybe in your case if the plug was barely out and your trip was a little rougher than usual the plug came out of it's socket ?????
Maybe something to check !!!!

FWIW it is a very good idea to unplug the water heater when winterizing. That way somebody does not turn on the heater with an empty tank and burn out the element. ;-)

2002 vintage should be AC power (Atwood didn't change controls to 12V DC until 2004)
Check the t-stats (S/B right above element) and see if High Temp T-stat is tripped (if tripped need to replace Normal T-stat as it has failed)
Otherwise..AC circuit breaker tripped or element burnt out

FYI
The 'fault' light will come on when:
LP fails to light off (prove main flame)
When ECO Trips (opens at 180*F) on either LP OR ELECTRIC
