Question Electric Awning

Having e!ectric awning issue on new trailer......last three attempts awning does not want to come out evenly. One side drops faster than other. Just have to barley touch slow side and it catches up. No problems when raising it up. Any suggestions on how to fix?

I have one but don't have the problem. Sounds like one side might be binding. Since it's new then warranty would be best. If you don't want warranty then check the slow side carefully to see if the fabric is getting caught on the edge next to the roller when it's going out.

could be a battery issue
or a awning motor issue,
or a need for lubrication or loosening of the 'slow' sides arms ?

is it possible fabric is not 'square' on the roller ?

good luck

Tension

The motor doesn't so much roll the awning out as allow the spring tension in the roller to pull it out. It's possible that the spring on the side that doesn't come out has lost tension or broken.

Replacing the spring and/or adding tension to the spring is a simple process, but a good way to break a few fingers. or worse. Do you feel lucky?

My guess. and I stress the word GUESS is that the awning material has slipped SLIGHTLY likely in the tube Either forward or back, just enough to make one of the arms bind a bit.....

Careful inspection of the binding can determine if it needs to move 1/8 to 1/4 inch more toward the hitch end or the license plate end.

Winnebago did not make an electric awning. Lippert, Dometic, or Carefree of Colorado.

Also, TV on and off will not fix it. It's coincidence. All other suggestions are good ones. There are a few things it can be.
