Electric outlet nonfunctional

We have one wall outlet in the bedroom of our 2008 Keystone Hornet that doesn't work. I am ok without plugging anything into the outlet thus not using it. My question is there any safety issue with it not working? Thanks

many rv mfgr's use very cheap outlets, in which you press the insulated wires into thin v-shaped slots that cut (or are supposed to cut) the insulation to make contact & transfer electricity. Had one in a 96 Trek that wasn't made up well & it failed. I found the issue tracing a further outlet that wasn't working, which was wired thru the poorly wired one. The contacts had arcing (burn) marks. IIWMI'd pull the outlet & see if there is a wiring problem behind the problem. It was easy for me to fully press the wire into the slot to make good contact & re-install the bad outlet. Hopefully your problem is simple.

Note that outlets are often wired in a daisy chain like this (NOTE The use of two wires between each, Heck I even included the safety ground!!)

Breaker box====Outlet 1=====Outlet 2====Outlet 3

Assuming a 3-utlet chain (Like I drew) if it is just one outlet then it is outlet 3

The problem could be at 2 or 3 (Either end of the last wrie) or it could be the wire itself.

NOTE: if the string of outlets is not 3 (IE if it's say 5) just adjust to the last 2 numbers.

I'm not sure if we had the same kind (sounds like it) or if they are cheap, but every outlet in our motorhome failed and had to be replaced under warranty with a household style. Ours were not repairable and it took a special tool to wire them anyway. On many of the ones we replaced, there was evidence of arcing - not a good situation.
