Electric steps locked in open position and clunking noise

Hi group,

I have a Monaco Monarch 2006, each time I open/close the steps, there is a klunk noise that seems to lock them in open or close position.

Today they opened fine but I don't remember hearing the final klunk. Now they will not retract and are locked in open position.

I attached a video for you to hear the strange sound coming from them when I close the screen door...

I tried to take picture of things underneath too, here they are:

All the teeth seem to be here, I can hear motor humming, the orange light switch on/off as before. I noticed a wire not plugged and hanging too.

Thanks for any help!

Seems to be the season. Your motor looks like the one I changed yesterday. Read through these two posts to see how to replace it. It sounds like your gears have failed.

Be sure to unplug the power cords running from the motor before attempting any repairs.

Obviously something is wrong with the motor gears

And it's written ACI on the casing...
