The EMS 900 manual states that the value of current stored in memory for each of the 6 loads can be displayed by holding down the "Service Select" button. The upper most LED will light and display the current stored, by pushing the Service Select button you can step through each of the 6 loads to display the stored current. When I do that I get "0" at each load. I'm running my generator both air conditioners and the refrigerator, for a total of 23A.

Has anyone tried this and does it only work if on shore power?

Thanks for any comments.

Most systems are set up for the generator to supply loads without intervention of the EMS. With that said I would think that you will have 0 amp load history, while generator is in operation.

Thanks Wiz, I didn't know that. I thought because it was displaying the 23A I could look individually at the loads.

Great info

Tincup,

The Intellitec EMS 900 is not capable of telling you the "at this moment" amp draw of each load. It can only identify the TOTAL amp draw of the RV. That's because the amp sensor is on the power cord's Neutral (return) wire and not the power supply wires to each load.

The system "memorizes" each controlled load only when it is 'shed' (turned off by the system). It subtracts the new total amp draw from the original total amp draw - the difference is the amp draw of the shed load.

By pressing the 'Service Select' button as you did, and only seeing zero (0) amps on the display for each load, means that your system has not shed any loads and, therefore, not memorized and stored any data.

The system should always display total amp draw when the Generator is providing power to the RV. Whether or not the load shedding system works when the generators is running is determined by a dip switch setting on the control board. Most OEMs set the switch to the "shed capable' position.

My blog about the Intellitec system may provide a little more information.

Hope this helps.

Dale,

Thank you for the simplification of the EMS operation. I also read your blog and saved it for future reference. Excellent write up, you should be a technical writer for Intellitec.
