30/50 Hookup Question
So if i get the 50 AMP EMS, and encounter a 30 AMP max pedestal, I am assuming the unit will still work with this hookup:
pedestal->30/50 dogbone->50 AMP EMS->50 AMP MH power cord?
I have also read that the EMS must be connected directly to the pedestal. If that is true, I can't use the 50 AMP EMS with 30 AMP campground power! and if i can't use a 30 AMP EMS with 50 AMP pedestals, with dogbone, then I need to buy both units????
Please advise if i can use the hookup I described above. And if so, what features do I lose, if any. Thanks

Yes you can use the PT50C with a dogbone on 30 amp.
The PT50C does not need to be connected directly to the pedestal. Many have used an extension cord between the pedestal and the PT50C so they can lock their PT50C inside a basement compartment for safe keeping.

The SSP line only protects against a surge/spike. It will give you a warning of the other conditions but it doesn't interrupt power to the coach. You need one of the EMS units to interrupt power when one of those conditions is detected.
