Light has never worked since I got it 2 yrs ago... Finally getting around to it...
New bulb
Turned on every light and ignition to try and get power
I am not getting any voltage to it plugged in a volt meter to end and ground and nothing...

Best I can tell there is one ground coming from the yellow box and I have not had any issues with the steps being intermittent...

Door was open.. not freshly opened so if was on a timer than it would have timed out. Did check within 4 or 5 minutes of turning on key

We noticed over this past weekend that ours has a 'light-timeout' of about 90 seconds.

There is a small inset on one page of this pdf about the stair light being tied into the porch light; and I'm sure that's how mine is set up.

Will look to see if I have the purple wire coming out and if I do I'll try and locate the "alternate fuse location"

Set step switch to retract steps with door closed. Open door and see if light comes on. Some are wired that way so you can see what hits you in the shin when door opens.

I believe my step light only works when the porch lights are on.
