I own a 2006 Lexington GTS with a Dometic RM 2652 refrigerator that is one of the most recent recalls.
NHTSA letter of April 21,2008,to Dometic states that there will be a secondary burner housing installed to satisfy the recall.I am trying to find out if the cylindercal tube surrounding the flue pipe and heater element,is the BURNER HOUSING?
Is the secondary housing meant to keep gases away from a possiable failed cooling unit weld?
My refer wiring diagram shows a thermofuse installed in series with the +12 VDC that supplys the Control Board. Is this Dometics way of protection against further feeding the fire in a case of a failed cooling unit weld?Dont know if that thermofuse was install in refers that were built after the initial recalls, that covered units built through 2001.

The burner housing is the bottom of your flue chimmney as this MANUAL shows. One of the recalls was to protect the flame on burner from going out from wind and they placed a shield across burner section. The new recall if your refridge is listed you should have it taken care of than they can cheack for both recalls.
They will keep checking with you until they have completed the recall on your refrige.
Only cost to you is getting there.

Dometic has extended the recall to 2006 models as well. It is the same recall posted above. Not knowing your serial number I would not know for sure, but if you go to Dometic USA you will find information on your specific recall. If it is the most recent recall, it is a firebox the gets built around your pilot seembly and burner tube with high limit switch and a fueseable link in case of a fire, it will shut the gas off and containing the fire, preventing damage to your coach.

If you plan on camping in the Hudson Valley region we might be able to do it for you. PM Me.

I dont mean a pilot assembly like you are thinking. I can try to take a picture, It will partially cover your burner tube.
