The Extend-a-stay goes between the tank outlet (Valve) and whatever is screwed into it.. This should be BEFORE your electric cut off and before your regulator. Of course if the wires on the solenoid valve are not long enough this could be a problem, it retuires moving the regulator (And the solenoid valve) farther away from the tank's manual valve.

My electrical valve is mounted directly to the tank. No manual valve for me.

I see, in a case like that your propane wholesaler is your friend.. I am willing to bet they have adapters to mate a POL male and female to the fittings on your valve and regulator.. In fact on the regulator side the odds of them having the needed fitting are 100%

Then that short length of copper would be replaced by the Extend-a-stay
