Fact or fiction

I hope this is the right place to start this topic but I think it'll be fun.

Fact or fiction, is it more cost-efficient to run your generator and cabin air-conditioning or run your cock pit Air conditioning.

I can't say for sure which is the most efficient, since I can't tell much difference either way. I can tell you for absolute surety that the most comfortable is to run the generator and the roof airs. At our age, comfort is more important than a few cents per mile. If it's hot enough, I'll run both the roof airs and the dash. The best I can figure, the generator is using just about the 1/2 gallon per hour that Onan says it will use.

What he said. Dash air is all but worthless in terms of cooling the coach on hot day.

I've calculated my generator uses just under 0.8 gallons per hour

I agree. The cost difference is insignificant as compared to the benefits of getting to your destination in a cool RV.

I use both when traveling. Our front window is huge and when we're stopped I usually have the front shades down. I can't do that when driving so I need the dash air just to cool me down. I also use the inverter to power 2 AC units or the generator to power all 4 if it's hot.
