Fantastic fan motor
Does anyone know of a source for fantastic fan motors, or a suitable replacement? I have searched the internet but have not been successful. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I just bought one because of the cheap charley splined thing that would mate up with the gear on the lift mechanism. Cost from Atwood was $30+. I consider it a ripoff.
You can look on the motor and it will give you the manufacturer of the motor but I don't know if they will sell you just one. I was on their website but nothing was said about selling just one.

I had that cheap splined thing strip out too. I drilled a hole through the spline and rod and put a piece of bailing wire in the hole (as a cotter pin). Its been working for a year now.

Thanks for all of the info. I checked the label on the motor before going on the internet. I have replaced fan motors before, including the one in the vent fan in the bathroom. But this was like looking for a needle in a haystack. It was like Fantastic intentionally didn't make it available to the aftermarket. I will check with Atwood as leesdx1 suggested. Thanks again everyone.

Fantastic fan
When I needed parts for my Fantastic fan I called 800/521/0298 and the lady was very helpful. They sent the parts free and I paid the freight. This is on an 05 model. I was very happy.

I agree with the last poster that a call to Fantastic Vent could very well result in a free fan motor and blade with you paying shipping. The motor you need is the K8017-00 which is sold by rvautoparts but the previous link is bad. Use:
K801700 Dometic Fan Motor
