We've always kept up with the fridge temps but never checked the freezer temps. Could I get a few responses to see if we're in the ballpark? The reason for the "all of a sudden interest", we have just changed out the cooling coils with the Amish unit and now are trying to make sure everything is working as it should. Yesterday on a six hour test before we slid it back into the hole we were at -1 degree in the freezer, temp in freezer when we turned the unit on was 76 degrees inside the coach. this was done on 110 power not propane. thanks in advance. Oh, the fridge is a Nocold 1200 series with 4 doors.

Minus 1 is great. I try to keep mine between zero and 5 degrees. I also have an Amish coolant unit in my Dometic refrigerator.

This record is for my Norcold 2117. Maybe it will be of some use to you.

muffin, I recently did an Amish conversion to my Norcold 1200 and have had it running for the past month in my driveway on 120 VAC. The outside temperatures have been around 85 degrees and with a refrigerator setting of #5 I have been seeing freezer temps of 8 to 10 degrees and fridge temps of 32 to 38 degrees during the day. I did see a lower freezer temp when I changed the setting to #9 overnight (maybe around 2 degrees). Sounds to me like your right in the ballpark. My installation slideshow can be seen below.
Good Luck, Sammie

You freezer should be between 0 and 10 degF. The frig should be 38 degF +/- a couple of degrees to keep the foods safe and fresh.

Remember that water freezes at 32 F. Ice cream is pourable at 32 F. Below 0 is good for ice cream. I don't know what other stuff freezes at, I only have room in my brain for important stuff. :-)
