Fresh Water Tank Mirus Detectors Placement Query

I have a 2005 Winnebago Sightseer (purchased 3 weeks ago) with TrueLevel™ holding tank-monitoring system that determines the level of fluid in a tank from outside the tank using Mirus™ detectors. So, on the first fill and then use during the shake-out trip, the level quickly went from full to empty.

From the bottom of the tank up, the 3 detectors are placed at 14", 18-1/2" and 19". The tank is now half full, but below the 14" detector, and the TrueLevel panel is reading EMPTY ... as one would expect since the water is below the lowest sensor. Note the tank does read FULL when full, and then quickly goes to 2/3 when using water. It would seem the current sensor placements for 2/3 and 1/3 are completely wrong. Does anyone know the proper placement for these detectors? If your's works, please take some measurements and respond to this post? Tank capacity is 75 gallons.

Epilog: Tank level solved

EPILOG: After carefully and easily prying the two lower sensors off the tank, I re-positioned them using Scotch double-sided tape to approximate 2/3 and 1/3 levels. Checking the panel indicators ... the water level is reading perfectly now. This was a simple and easy fix, and I still can't understand why they were placed incorrectly in the first place ... probably never will. More information specific to this system, from WIT Club News, is attached.

This was an interesting post. From what I read if you have trouble with your monitoring system not working or especially if you are thinking about retrofitting an older winnebago you would be better off getting rid of it and going to a seelevel 2 system. They are a lot easier to hook up and they read in percentages of 6 per cent. Instead of 1/2 2/3 full they read 6 per cent full, 12 per cent full, 18 per cent full etc. It is only two wires that connect all of the tanks and monitors together. I installed my new system and replaced the monitor in the coach and added a monitor in the wet bay area. Took about an hour and a half. Hardest part was figuring how to get the wet bay panel off to get behind it and work.

Sorry not trying to hijack your thread but other people with this sytem will be reading it for ideas to fix their system or will want to see what was said about it when they are thinking about retrofitting. You did a good job of fixing your problem.

Sloppy work by original installer I suspect. I have the same condition with the factory installed sensors, sloppy installation placed them incorrectly. My full indicator is 1/2" below ceiling of tank, 2/3 indicator at 1/2 way mark.
