Had a strange experience with my Dometic fridge this weekend. The freezer portion seemed to be working normally, but the refigerator portion was not getting very cold. I finally had to set it on 5. After about a day and a half at 5 it seemed ok, so I backed it down to 4 and left it there for the rest of the weekend. Normally, I will turn it on a full day before I leave out, and before I stock it, but this time, I turned it on 2 hours before we left, and filled it up right away. Any thoughts? I thought it was strange that part of it acted normally, and part didn't.

Steve, some refers Norcold inparticula were having problems cooling down the box because they didn't have fans at top of fridge operating as they should. The freezers were working ok but box temps wouldn't go below 40*.
If you are having warm weather and this is first time putting on fridge it will take time for fridge to cool down for box temp. As long as it stays stable you should be ok but if not a fan 12v may help to get heat out top vent to cool those coils in back of fridge.

A RV fridg normally takes 24 hours to completely react to a temperature adjustment(colder). Sounds like your fridg is operating normally. Bryant RVhas a great trougleshooting section and pdf service documents.
