Fridge has issue when on propane

Before we take our unit in for service we thought we would seek advice on irv2. Our refrigerator works perfect when on shore power but upon switching to propane the temperature doesn't hold to the point that the food in the freezer defrosts. Any suggestions...husband typically can fix anything but this has him perplexed.

When is the last time your fridge had maintenance may need some cleaning the ceramic sensor may not be seeing the pilot flame to hold on propane option.
Many more Tech info links for maintenance & safty here.

You may need to clean the burner and chimney. Just read the old instruction manual.

We had exactly the same problem. The flame looked normal but the fridge wouldn't get cold. I called David Force with RV Cooling Unit Warehouse and he told me exactly what was wrong. He told me I should be hearing a loud "roar" from the flame when standing outside next to the access door. I wasn't hearing any roar. I removed the burner tube, soaked it in alcohol for two hours, blew it out with high pressure air. You would not believe the junk that came out of there! I put it back in and knew immediately what he meant! That sucker was definitely roaring! It now cools on LPG the same as on AC.

BTW- I had bought a new Amish-built cooling unit from David before that. VERY happy with my decision! I can sleep at night without worrying about becoming a "crispy critter"!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Before just doing all this stuff listed or searching through a huge list of documents, what is the refr doing on LP?
Have the trailer lever, on shore power, and turn the refr on auto. Go the outside of it, pull off the panel, get to where you can see the flame when it lights. Then unplug the heating element from the outlet back there. After less than a minute, it should open the gas valve, start sparking, and light the LP.
Let us know what it is/isn't doing, then we can give you a better idea than just a library link.
