Good day to all. Well it is always on to the next issue be it with your home on wheels or slab. With temps in Texas @ or near 100 degrees and up, my refridgerator fan goes on the fritz. I have a Norcold and am told the sensor may be the culprit or a fuse on the back side and not the fan or fans. My Rv is up at the farm and I have purchased a couple of Valtera after market universal mount fans thru advice of my local dealer. My ??? is by others experience are they as effective and as safe as the stock units. I have never pulled my fridge and think I can get around doing this with these units. On the one I have now all that can be seen from behind the fridge is the wire connection. I intend to pull the top cover and try and check the sensor first. If any of these steps are wrong or any better advice please advise. The new cover and two fans were $112.00 and I am sure I could have purchased cheaper replacements for factory mount locations. But time and Rv being not at home make market research on price comparisons not as important. Thanks to all and keep the dust on ya boot

A computer repair store can get you 12 VDC muffin fans for around 15-25 dollars each and they will do a fantastic job of moving the air.

X3. Some computer repair places will sell used muffin fans for $3-4 ea. from junk computers. They draw less current than OEM fans usually. Then there is the solar-powered roof vent to consider, at much more money.

Don't jump on the Solar power roof unit if your fridge is in a slide out, because you don't have a roof vent.

You can still get the solar fan to mount in the vents o back though. If yo have and old computer laying around or the power supply then just take the fan from it and use it.
