Help would be a appreciated, My son just bought a 04 trail lite travel trailer. The 1 system we didnt check of course doesnt work. The Dometic Americana fridge does run when plugged in to AC but when asked to run on gas it does not. The battery is fully charged and all lites are working. The on button is on on the and we have tried it in the auto position and the gas position. This is what happens, the electronic ignitor clicks only 1 time then waits 40 seconds and clicks again only 1 time and the the fridge check lite comes on and the fridge stops trying to lite. We smell No gas. Any Ideas? Thanks, Marcdohc

It sounds like you have a bad ignitor. Try using a butane lighter and see if it will light.

Thanks for your advise! I turned it on again but this time right after the igniter clicked once I lite a lighter in where the pilot is. A flash of fire the size of my fist ignited and instantly went out. I then shut the fridge off. After waiting 2 minutes I turned it back on and lite it again right after the igniter clicked, again with a lighter I got a small explosion. After shutting it off again and waiting a bit I turned it on and waited for the igniter to click and WALAAA the damm thing works as it should, it ignited itself. Any thought on what it was? Thanks again for chimming in, Marcdohc

It could be a small amount of rust on the ignitor, that was grounding the spark. your flash bang attempt at lighting could have blown it away. Just a guess.

Did your purge your gas line of any air before trying to light your frig? Make sure you light your gas stove for a few seconds before trying to fire up the frig. Clearing any air in the line helps with the frig gas ignition

Please do not light with igniter you may get your hand burned or flash back in your face.
The flame sensor that is near the igniter may have a carbon build up that needs to be wiped off.
Also as said rust particals may be caught in burner slots.
Here is a link for cleaning your burner area.

Here is another one for cleaning.
