We went out last weekend and our frig would not get much below 50 degrees. Had her plugged up for a day before we left with frig empty and was about 50 when we put some food in it. Never really got below that. Freezer worked fine, made ice and kept ice. I would have thought if I was having problems with the frig that the freezer should have been affected as well????? HELP please!

What kind of refer do you have? Were you on LP OR A/C ? I have a Norcold 1200 series and had a simular problem on LP . They fix on mine was cleaning the chamber where the LP flame is. The LP was shut of for cleaning. Looked like all he did was blow it out with air.

try running on lp we had to do this on vacation ours would cool on electric but worked perfect on gas if this works then you need to trouble shoot the heating element and control board . there are several sources on the net just look up trouble shooting for your brand. you can run on gas going down the road we did but it is controversial subject, we had no problems but folks worry about the gas being on when moving.

happy traveling

You may need more venting of your vent area behind fridge.
With this summers heat its a big problem.
This thread will explain how to resolve, either fridge mfg will have this problem.
The box temps are the biggest problem your freezer will be OK.

You still don't say what size the fridge is, but the larger ones have 2 heaters. One may be burned out.

Try it on LP. If it works, then it likely is the heater. If it still doesn't work, you may have a coolant leak which is causing the efficiency to decrease.

For additional information about how the RV refrigerator works, you may want to read the continuing series of blog pages that start HERE. It's titled "Understanding the RV Refrigerator." Six 'parts' have been written so far.

If the cooling unit begins to fail or is struggling becasue of excessive heat, the freezer will remain cold but the fridge area gets warm. That's the way the absorption cycle works - the coldest spot is al

My Dometic NDR-1292 is out also. Just searching the Web leads me to think that these things are notoriously BAD. Mine is a simple fix. I pulled the thermistor and the fridge turned into an icebox. New thermistor and happy camping once again. Not only does it appear they are unreliable, they are EXPENSIVE to replace or fix. I bought a full size Kenmore side by side for less than the price of my dimuative Dometic.
