Is this a front dash air conditioning system or a front roof air conditioning system? If roof air, what make and model do you have?

It is the roof air,duo therm comfort control with 5 buttons.
I think it may be the start cap.but not sure how to test it?

You will need to access the ceiling return and remove the filter where you will find the data tag with model #. With that we may be able to get you a schematic.

Phil...there is a post that SacsTC had started on an aftermarket capacitor that is around somewhere. You should also find a wiring diagram on the inside of the AC cover. I am sorry but I did not get a picture of that. I think you will find pics of the capacitor in his post

Mike,
Thanks for the info,I took down the inside cover and checked the wires and pulled on them, nothing seemed loose, went up on the roof and took off the A/C cover and looked at everything,no sign of burning or excess heat, took cover off the back of the compressor and pulled on the cap.wires, the lower one would pull out some the upper one was solid, they look a condenser that the old cars with points and condensers had.Pulled on all the wires, all seemed fine.Plugged into power and turned on the front air and after 2 mins. The compressor came on?
I don't believe in the wiggle test BUT I haved tried it 5-6 times and it is working??
So I guess I will just wait and see.
Thanks
Phil

Phil, glad to hear that the unit is now running. No need to try to troubleshoot when it is functioning properly. You may have had a bad connection (probably 12 volt control) and the wiggling corrected the issue for a while. Good luck and enjoy!

What was the outdoor temperature? How long did you let it run? Have you used the heat side of this or any other heat pump before? Could you tell if the compressor were running; how cold was the air coming out?
