Frustrated with satellite hookup!

Hey y'all. Trying to hook up a Dish Network portable receiver and satellite to my Monaco LaPalma. There are 2 connections in the power bay. One says Cable the other is labeled Sat. I can't seem to find the other ends of these connections in the AV compartment over the drivers seat. The connections in that compartment are labeled Satellite connections, but none work. I connected the satellite to the receiver directly and it all works. I can't get a signal from any of the connections in the AV compartment.

Any ideas?

TIA
Tom

Do u have a switch for your signal or if there are any splitters may cause it to not work if they are not the correct splitters for sat.

or there may be no actual cabling in the bay. you might pull off the panels holding the connectors on both ends and see if there is a cable attached.

I'm wanting to run direct from the connection in the power bay to the WALLY in the overhead compartment without the Winegard switch box. It appears that there are coax cable connections on both ends labeled Sat.( I pulled the plates and verified there was a cable connected) but there doesn't seem to be a connection between both ends. Confusing.

third option, do you have a big switching unit, one that will connect the over the air antenna, the sat antenna the dvd, etc to different tvs? And I'm sure you checked this, but you get the Sat receiver set-up signal on your TV?

Yeah I do have a switch box, but I need to run a direct connection to the Wally from the portable dish. If I run a straight coax to the Wally it works, but I don't want to run a coax through a window. There has to be coax that runs from the power bay to the overhead box, as it is labeled that way, or am I out in left field?

Yep, did, ain't none. Not sure why or where there could be a break. Checked Cable and Sat coax both ends. Nada. Strange that both are bad.

No, it sounds like you have the right labels. Check to see that cables are connected as was previously suggested, if you have an ohmmeter check the cables for continuity.

Thanks for the diagram. With a few exceptions, it matches what I have. It shows 2 straight runs for Cable and Satellite coax from the rear compartment
to the overhead compartment. I have tested both runs at the cable termination
points (no switch box or splitters) and neither have continuity. I don't understand why both would be bad. I could understand 1, but both?

Guess I have to figure out how to trace those runs without ripping the MH apart. It appears they run through the ceiling.

Silly rookie mistake. I assumed the cables were labeled correctly!

Once I figured that out and fixed the loose cable ends, it all worked!

Silly me making that assumption!

Thanks everyone.

WOW, your coach is 11 years old and this was the first anyone tried to use the sat system.

You can get a relatively cheap test to test both ends of the coax at the box store, test them all until you find two ends in one cable.
