It is not necessary to have a window or vent open like you would if using the cook top or stove. The design of the furnace has an outside source of combustion air and exhaust that is sealed from the inside living area. However, some do leave a roof vent slightly open to allow the moist air out of the coach as this moister can condense on windows, walls and cold surfaces inside the coach and cause mildew problems if left unchecked. We however, use a dehumidifier in the winter to take care of high humidity issues.
