On vacation, travelling from our home in Wisconsin to South Carolina. Had turned the front heat pump on after we set up last night to take the chill out, and decided to leave it on overnight to maintain the 68 degrees I'd set it to.
It got quite cold in central Indiana last night. When my wife got up it was 44 degrees in the front of the RV (we kept the bedroom pocket doors closed, and the rear furnace worked fine - no heat pump in the back). Nothing was running, though the thermostat was still set to 'electric heat', just as I'd left it. She flipped it to gas and the blower came on right away, but it never would light. I cycled it several times (turn it off for a few minutes, then try to start it again) to no avail.
What should I start looking for in my attempts to get it running again? I did see one old post elsewhere that talked about running it with the LP off for 5 minutes, thermostat set above room temp, then lowered below until the blower stops. Then set thermostat back above ambient temp and turn the LP back on. ???
Any suggestions?

Forgive the seemingly obvious question, but have you lit the range to confirm you have propane and that it's turned on?
By the way, seeing that this is your first post, welcome to iRV2.com. We're glad to have you join us.

JMonroe, welcome to iRV2.com. We are glad to have you join us here and we look forward to reading of your adventures and experiences. I am sure you will enjoy this website and forums.
I would suggest cleaning the unit to start with if you have good battery voltage and fuel to run the furnace on. You may have had a pest build a nest in it causing the problem. Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks for the welcome notes. I will tear into it maybe later today. Looks like an "inside" day; it's pooring and there's no sign of let up. Our first day in South Carolina. Looks to be wet most of our first week here. Wouldn't mind so much, if we didn't have to return to Wisconsin in a couple weeks. Oh well, at least we've got a couple of wet dogs to keep us company.
The rear furnace was working fine, it's just the front that won't light. The cleaning suggestion might turn out to be right on. I had a similar experience with the water heater last yeat - turned out to be a spider web in the air/gas tube.

JMonroe;
While I can't help you with you heat problem I can welcome you to Irv2. I always especially enjoy welcoming Wisconsin members. I was born and raised in Waushara County, Poy Sippi to be exact. My Daughter and her DH live in the house I was raised in. I have most of my MH service done at Bill's Tire at Poy Sippi. Pat does a great job for me. Maybe we can meet for coffee someday when we are in the Pine River and Poy Sippi area.

Before tearing into the heater I would keep trying to light the furnace you may just have air in line that has to be purged out of it.
Welcome to irv2 also.
